1. Organize your schedule for the day
You must have defined what is the time you dedicate to each activity, try to have a schedule dedicated to the priorities that you have in the day, for example: Tasks, work, personal activities, lunch time, etc. It is important that you know what you will do the next day, this will give you an advantage of being able to organize your time and do your activities in the best way and in the corresponding time.
2. Link your knowledge
You can apply your knowledge based on what you have learned both at school and at work.
3. Keep in mind your priorities
Many people can not carry out being employees and students.
For this reason it is important to consider whether you can bear the burden of having two responsibilities and know what your priority is. So you do not neglect your studies and do your job well.
4. Manage your finances
An advice considering that an inexperienced employee does not earn much is to manage it intelligently. This point is very important because as young people we tend to spend excessively for example at parties, going out too much with friends and spending on unnecessary things.
We must have clear our priorities for example the food, transportation and fixed costs that you have on your day by day and that are necessary to be able to do both things well.
These are some things that we have to consider in order to do a good job and be able to carry out our activities more effectively.
Many other students wait until the end of their career to start practicing, as they find it very difficult to carry out two activities at the same time. But doing your internship while you are still studying will give you some benefits that give you an advantage over students who fear doing these activities at the same time.
What are the benefits of working and studying at the same time?
Experience: The experience you gain from working while you study will help you when you finish your career, when you finish your studies you will have more work experience than your colleagues giving your CV advantage, since many of the companies prefer people with experience.
You will earn money: When you start working you will receive a salary and with this you can cover some of your expenses, buy materials that you need at school and you can even pay your tuition and help with expenses of your house.
You will become more responsible: You will realize that work demands a higher degree of responsibility and you will become a person committed to your duties.
New contacts: Relating with different people is very important since you can learn a lot from them and share work experiences. You will have classmates from school and from your work.
When to start doing professional practices?
Speaking of my experience in the workplace, I recommend looking for career-oriented jobs when you're in the last semester or one year before graduation. This will help you to have theoretical knowledge about what you are going to do and what you will see at work. It is also important that you consider the class schedules, studying in a night shift will help you get a job in the morning, as companies run office hours and you will have time to do both.
Studying and working is a challenge that requires discipline, a good organization and a positive attitude to see opportunities for professional growth. Try to overcome the obstacles that arise and I can assure you that you will see your effort rewarded, each experience is a teaching.
